Polo - The Sport of Kings

Polo is a dynamic, fast, exciting and tactical game played by teams of three or four players on each side. They are mounted on specially bred horses, termed Polo-ponies.

The game originated in China over 2500 years ago and initially involved hundreds of players on either side. Today the sport is increasingly popular internationally and especially in the UK.

St Andrews Polo Club is a friendly, open, well-established club and we look forward to welcoming both experienced players as well as complete beginners.

Polo clubs are notoriously sociable and St Andrews is no exception. We run a lively social calendar full of parties, dinners and nights out on the town. We co-host a large event with the Boat Club in November as well as hosting the unique and succesful Chukka party prior to Strathtryum which last year took place in the Byre Theatre.
