Your level of play depends on your level of experience. Beginners with little or no experience on horseback are first taught the basics of riding. Once you reach a safe level of competence our instructor, Thom Bell (pictured), will then allow you to progress to taking polo lessons and eventually playing chukkas.

Thom teaches at his polo yard in Kinross. He is an HPA (Hurlingham Polo Association) instructor and at £30 per lesson, is tutelage is certainly offered at good value

Kinross is located approximately 40 minutes from St Andrews and is accessible either by car or the number 23 Bus. Lessons are booked at club meetings every Tuesday with our secretary and are available most days of the week except Mondays.

As you progress through lessons and instructional chukkas, there are plenty of opportunities to play in competitive matches and represent the University at all levels.
